Le Grand-Bornand proposes a host of new features, with 16 trails across the MTB area, 8 of which are brand new, and more visible waymarkers, not forgetting the Ludopark fun area that has opened in Lormay in the Bouchet valley. A total of 178km of trails of varying levels of difficulty, along with 3 lifts, invite you to explore the resort’s natural and cultural heritage. All-mountain, cross-country, enduro, downhill… all levels and preferences are catered for. To push out the boundaries, you can also rent a mountain Ebike. This does, however, involve a few technical details, so don’t hesitate to call upon a professional guide for your first family outings or your excursions with friends.
Three lifts can be found on this pretty complete set of 20 trails designed to suit all preferences and levels: XC/all-mountain, DH and enduro trails, a freeride zone, a northshore area with a succession of jumps, and a mini bike park to ease young novices gently into the discipline. You can also take advantage of the 2 interlinked mountain Ebike trails managed by Manigod. Through the woods or across the mountain pastures, on wide paths or along single-track trails, go mountain biking deep into the mountains… Ready, steady, ride!
During your stay, you’ll find plenty of sports shops that rent out mountain bikes for adults and children, as well as mountain Ebikes. Qualified instructors will be able to help novices discover this activity, or take adrenalin seekers on the more challenging trails. Riders who don’t need guidance will find MTB guidemaps at the tourist offices and various outlets. Don’t hesitate to use the free app, Virées en Aravis, to download the different trails and visit points of interest along the way.
For bike maintenance, you’ll find bike wash and tyre pump facilities as well as repair kits at various points (tourist offices, lift stations, bike shops, etc.), and certain bus services accepting bikes will help you reach the different MTB areas.
Suitable for all mountain biking levels and for all-mountain riders in particular, the trails totalling 120km visit hamlets and villages, stretch across woodland and fields, and follow the banks of rivers, crossing bridges from time to time. The panoramic views over Lake Annecy, the Bauges and Aravis mountains, or even the Mont-Blanc, invite you to contemplate the natural surroundings and make the most of these special moments to surpass yourself or revitalise your mind and body!
