From 18 March, winter sports fans will be flocking to La Clusaz for the Balme Freeski Derby. At this freesking event like no other, participants and spectators share the fun in a friendly festive atmosphere. Then on 9 Avril, the Boarder Line event brings cross-country fans together to take this second boardercross race to the limits and beyond. Local enthusiasts and top athletes battle it out in a race that has a skicross feel. The falls, stunts, activities and concerts all add to the crazy atmosphere! During the famous Défi Foly event taking place on 22-23 April, participants will compete to cover the longest distance possible across the Confins lake on various identified and unidentified sliding objects. Festive madness guaranteed! Last but not least, on 1 May come and celebrate the end of the season on the slopes with Der des Der: outdoor drinks & nibbles, a concert and a huge party to close the season in style!
Manigod is the home of the paret, a wooden sledge with a single runner. For 30 years now, the people of Manigod have participated with great enthusiasm in this amusing competition with a friendly atmosphere. Come and cheer them on at Merdassier pass as they hurtle down the slopes of the resort. This anniversary event has plenty of surprises in store for you, including a fabulous fireworks display. Those who fancy it will also get a chance to have a go at paret sledging.
With proceeds going to children in need, the Glisse en Cœur festival has become the ultimate charity event of the French mountains. This year, the target to reach is 100 times the summit of Everest – €884 800 – for the benefit of the association À Chacun son Everest. A record 175 teams have already signed up for this 24-hour skiing race to music. A charity dinner to be prepared by two local Michelin-starred chefs and a great solidarity concert featuring Cerrone and The Avener promise to attract both personalities and ordinary people for this fabulous festive event!
Pour sa 8e édition, Trace d’Espoir réunit skieurs expérimentés et néophytes autour d’un parcours sans chrono, ni classement. Cette journée, organisée par et pour l’association Mayann Autisme et Vie propose deux itinéraires selon le niveau de chacun pour allier l’aventure du ski alpinisme et l’aide au handicap. D’autres animations telles qu’une chasse aux trésors ou encore un contest de luge 4 saisons sont prévues pour skier, partager, s’émerveiller et aider dans la bonne humeur !
